Description
Release Date:
05 February 2007
Originally broadcast on ITV in 1969, Special Branch starred Derren Nesbitt (Where Eagles Dare) as the cool, no-nonsense Detective Chief Inspector Jordan (a forerunner to The Sweeney's Jack Regan), Wensley Pithey (Edward and Mrs Simpson) as Supt. Eden, Fulton Mackay (Porridge) as Det. Supt. Inman and Morris Perry (The Sweeney) as Charles Moxon.
As well as introducing a new type of character to the British public - that of the trendy copper - the episodes in this set pit the men of Special Branch against government security leaks, people-trafficking, terrorism, diplomatic incidents and machinations of the KGB.
